Refreshing beaches and harbour baths in the big city

All year round, you can take a dip in one of Copenhagen’s many harbour baths. And here you are never far from a beach. Amager Beach Park, for instance, boasts a 4.6-kilometre-long sandy beach.

Amager Beach Park

Amager Beach Park is without a doubt one of Copenhagen’s best places to spend long summer days and bright summer evenings.

In 2005, the Beach Park was expanded with a 2-km-long artificial island that forms a lagoon with a shallow bathing area for children. The other side, on the Sound, consists of a large sandy beach with dunes overlooking the spectacular Øresund Bridge and the Middelgrunden Wind Turbine Farm.

The southern part of the Beach Park features a promenade and excellent areas for jogging, various ball games and relaxation. In addition, the grassy areas, Femøren and Tiøren, settings for the likes of rock concerts during the summer.

The park is also a favourite place for all kinds of sports activities, and you will encounter swimmers, runners, kayakers, skaters and all the other punters taking advantage of the Beach Park’s numerous facilities.

All year round, but especially during the summer, Amager Beach Park forms the setting for innumerable events and activities, including sports events, concerts and outdoor weddings.
